Working on bases

Here is what I've been doing on the bases for my Blood Angels.

First I use GW's Astrogranite texture paint to great a rocky appearance on the bases.

Next, I add a layer of Martian Red earth to the base.

I occasionally add a layer of a color before adding the Martian Red Earth to show through the cracks when the crackle style paint drys.

More Marines completed.

I've been repainting and putting new weapons on several of my older space marine models.  I just finished a Devastator Squad Sergeant, Tactical Squad Marine with Heavy Flamer and more Tactical Squad marines with bolters.
