Campaign Story

I'm participating in a Warhammer 40K campaign this summer.  So here is the first part of my army's story.

Mephiston was pondering the visions he recently had, while reviewing the disposition of forces of the Blood Angels, its successor chapters, and allies.  The threat of a Champion of Khorne being released, especially on Forge World so close to Cadia and the Eye of Terror, was something that could be not ignored.  A menacing smile formed on Mephiston’s face, as he noted that a Company of the Knights Sanguine were operating near the Cadian Gates.  They would be the blade he would use to strike the first blow.  Ignoring the others around him, Mephiston headed toward the Astropathic Choir to send his first orders.

In a barren cell, a hooded figure knelt before a sheathed sword.  At an unknown signal, he stood up, exiting the cell and taking the sword with him.  As he walked out of the room, he hooked the sword to his belt, picked up a plasma pistol and a bolt pistol, holstered one on each hip, then slipped a couple of ammo clips into a belt pouch.  As he crossed the threshold, he disappeared leaving no trace behind.

Brother Mercurious, Sanguinary Priest of the Knights Sanguine, looked at the forces that would be scouting Alerio Secondus with him.  Sergeant Adrastus was teaching the chapter’s history to the 4 scouts that accompanied him, as they cleaned their sniper rifles.  Sergeant Justinus and his half squad were unmoving in their seats as the Storm Raven, Wings of Sanguinus, rocketed toward the surface.  Once they were on the ground, it would return to the Battle Barge and be loaded with the Death Company, and wait for his signal to enter the battlefield.

Cypher tracked the progress of the Storm Raven as it approached the landing field.  It was time to test the mettle of a different kind of Angel.
